Congratulations to our Competition Winner and Goodbye...for now!
Firstly, the good news. Time to announce the winner of our prize draw for customers who came in over the summer to win a free session to paint the giant cupcake cookie jar!
Yesterday morning names went into a hat (well, a mug...)
And the winning number picked out by our very helpful assistant was number 10:
Which corresponded to Evie Boxall! Evie, you have won the free session - we have sent you an email with all the details.
Now for the bad news... sadly we will be shutting the shop in mid-September when our lease expires. We are so very sad to be doing this and are really, really going to miss all our lovely customers. I can't thank everyone enough for being so supportive and friendly - we have enjoyed meeting each and every one of you.
We are going to keep our eyes peeled for a fab new location for next summer, but in the meantime we will be keeping the majority of our equipment and have a kiln at home, so will be doing mobile events and are absolutely available for hire for sessions at pre-schools, schools, guides/brownies, birthday/hen parties etc. Just get in touch if you would like to discuss a booking on 0776 474 4569 or info@seashoreceramics.co.uk.
We're also hoping to run sessions at local village halls during the school holidays - keep an eye on our Facebook page or website for more information!
After this weekend we will be open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, and then definitely on the following two Saturdays before we close the shop at Station Road for good. However please do get in contact if there are any days you would like to come in and do a session as we will be in and out of the shop a lot over the next few weeks.
Hope to see you all before too long!
Esther, Kevin and Arwen xxx

Spring/Summer 2012 News
Well, it's been a while since I've updated this, but there are a few things I wanted to mention, so here we go!
Shaldon Jubilee Market: Tuesday 5th June 10am - 2pm
We're really looking forward to having our stall at the Shaldon Jubliee Market on the upcoming Jubilee Bank Holiday. We won't be doing any pottery painting there, but we will be selling all sorts of ceramic goodies that we've been working on over the winter, including...beach hut magnets and hangers, coasters, celebratory union jack mugs, fish paintings, handmade greetings cards and much more!
New Stock
We've recently had a big delivery and so lots of our old favourites are back in stock...owls, unicorns just to name a few, and we have some lovely new pieces to add to our shelves! Here are just a few:
(L-R: Cute bird, Cyclops monster, Frog, Large fairy, Cute T-Rex, Elephant piggybank)
We are hiring!
As most of you will already know, we had a little addition to our family last year in the form of baby Arwen. This means that we are going to be looking to hire some help in the shop over the 6 week summer holidays. Ideally we're looking to build a small list of local people who can be flexible and are interested in casual, ad hoc work, due to the unpredictable nature of the busy times in our shop. For example, if there is a heatwave, we may not need any help, but if the weather turns rainy, we may well need an extra pair of hands!
If you, or someone you know is interested, please do get in contact us on info@seashoreceramics.co.uk or 0776 474 4569. You'll need to enjoy working with children of all ages and their parents, not be afraid of a bit of painty mess, and ideally have an interest in art or craft (but you certainly don't need to be an artist yourself!)

A little breather!
Apologies for the radio silence everyone - yes, we are still alive :)
We had a lovely summer season, with loads of fantastic visitors and some fabulous works of art going into the kiln. We're very excited that some of our summer visitors have even planned their October half-term visits already! We were also really thrilled at the local support we had throughout the summer - everyone has been so friendly and really made us feel at home in Teignmouth.
Now that the school term has started, we're taking the opportunity to have a little breather and sort our house out ready for the arrival of the newest member of our family, due in November - not long to go now, I'm sure anyone who has been into the shop recently will agree that I look fit to pop already!
We will still be open every weekend (with the exception of this coming Sunday 25th September), and most Thursdays and Fridays, plus any other agreed times for group and birthday bookings. If you'd like to check if we'll be open, please do get in touch - our contact details can be found on this page or at www.seashoreceramics.co.uk
If you'd like to book a party, don't forget we can also do an after-school slot, any time around 4-6 - just get in contact if you'd like to discuss options. There's still plenty of availability, but we are getting more bookings so do give us a shout if you're thinking of having a party with us.
Lastly, we're looking forward to Christmas and have already got some of our festive stock ready - but you'll just have to wait a little longer for that, the sun is still shining a little to much to bring it out... But it won't be long before we all start thinking about making Christmas presents for loved ones and creating some fun new decorations!
